Hi everyone! I have a few questions on submitting the visa appointment fee expense for reimbursement in DTE: Can we submit an expense for our spouse’s visa appointment (they’re on H4)? I am from India and in order to pay the visa fee I used the NEFT option to pay but the Indian bank account my brother’s. What receipt will be accepted in DTE? I don’t think there’s any receipt that we received. It was just my brother initiated the transfer from his Deloitte" class="linkified" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >account.Deloitte

You can get any brokerage account
Schwab, fidelity etc just make sure they have $0 trade
If you are just starting out just DCA ( invest equal money every week, month etc. regardless of market conditions )
Regarding ETF’s
VOO or VTI + Any ARK fund + a clean energy or solar fund such as ICLN or QCLN or TAN
Pick a brokerage that's easy to use, $0 commission trades, and provides good free research and charting capabilities. I use Webull (you can use this referral link to get 4 free stocks when you sign up https://act.webull.com/te/Ekv54jMole1C/8om/inviteUs/).
I've used Etrade, fidelity, TD Ameritrade, and Robinhood. I'd avoid robinhood at all costs due to their poor fill rates and poor customer service. You'll lose money in long term. Ameritrade has think or swim platform that's a nice professional level platform but has glitches and has crashed in recent history. Fidelity is a good boomer platform but their feature sets prioritize simplicity over functionality and app is too basic. They also don't show you your portfolio performance until you have $250k in the account (lol hate poor people much?). I found Webull to have best of all features, $0 commissions, crypto, great app and UI, and best of all an option to stop loss/take profit in a single order for speculative plays which has been great to take money where I can but also not lose it. I can use this to set up orders and not have to keep checking the price all the time.
For ETF, look at VTI for whole market, VGT for tech ETF, ARKK for innovative companies, ICLN, QCLN, and TAN for green companies.
Can you expand on that Robinhood comment? I’ve been using them and have over 40k there so would love to understand and pull back if required.
