I would expect 100+ at a top 10 firm
I agree that it’s low.. but that’s the market compared to 3 years ago.
I would have thought new staff were 90k or so at larger firms.
Too low, BDO is top 10 btw
NYC Deloitte just made senior 106

For NJ it is fine. For NYC it sounds low.
made 78k as a S1 in 2019 (NYC - Big Four)
Low - I made $100k VHCOL at S1 back in 2021. I would expect you to be around $105-$110k.
Imo id start looking. You could probably get $115k+ just by switching firms.
It’s 106k to 108k for new seniors at Deloitte NYC office in MTS and BTS tax if that helps
Yes. Especially at bdo
Too low. Should be over 100
They said it is a smaller firm so don’t really know
Depends on how small of a firm it is and what the hours will be like. I’ve seen some small firms only offering up to $84k, so the pay is good in comparison to that. Big 4 transparency might be able to give you some additional insight, though most of the data is pay at Big 4 firms and the rest is from top 10 firms.
A year ago, $95K in NY/NJ would have been low. Right now, the market has swung towards the employer. If you are at BDO, it might be $5K too low as of today.
When I was a new senior (2 yrs ago) I was making 100k in a far smaller city.
True, smaller like Phoenix, haha
