got laid off at Hopin. job search is going well but finding it super hard in interviews to get an idea of the company culture and whether they actually care about work/life balance. they will obviously *say* they do but i fear in reality they’re just going to advantage, overwork you and pile on the deadlines. so many people in interviews with me have been so uninspiring, barely smile and seem totally burnt out. is this just my experience?

Hello, I am having my first connect with recruiter at Amazon for modernisation Architect role next week. It is scheduled for 30 min. Could anyone throw some lights on how the first connect looks like. Do I need to prepare in terms of behavioral questions(which I seen quite a lot in everyone's post) . Thank in advance you for your support.

It varies quite a bit based on the company. A strategy team isn't really a required function, so it's not uncommon for it to be built and championed under the leadership of a particular member of the c-suite (usually CFO, reporting directly to CEO, or a Chief Strategy Officer which itself usually reports to CEO vs being as independent as other C suite titles). This means that the team can certainly be in jeopardy if the champion exec leaves at certain companies, so I wouldn't for example consider a newly formed strategy team at a failing company secure
Other times it can be pretty secure e.g. I'd say BizOps is pretty safe at Google
Other than safety it's worth considering long term development -- at many companies it isn't uncommon for there to be an unclear advancement path past the midlevels for the strategy teams
Often that's the case for traditional top-down strategy type functions, but there are also strategy functions with different or often limited scopes
Strategy and Operations type titles are wildly variable in terms of what they do - e.g. even at Google we have lots of similar sounding teams that do very different things
I am Sales Strategy at SF and may receive an offer for PG in the Sales Strategy function at MSFT. My hiring manager told me he was hiring at least 3 PG's in Sales Strategy at MSFT to assist in quota assignments, territory strategy, etc. In my opinion these types of roles are not risky as they are essentially in helping the company save money and best utilize key resources. My gut says companies are purging recruiters, talent acq, etc and focusing resources on sales, sales strategy, etc.
