Hello Mastercard employees. I have been trying to break into MC for long now.
I have 2 yrs workex post MBA. I have experience in data analysis and consulting. But I don't want to get into consulting anymore. I am looking for analytics roles. Anyone here would be able to DM and guide me on the available options at Mastercard?

Maybe earlier in your career. I’ve worked a few places where they really pushed it. I’ve never seen it make any difference in people’s ability to do their job. I’ve been around enough people who have it to get it through osmosis, to the point that when I have managers that don’t know/understand some of the best practices, they get irritated with me when I bring them up. It’s letters after your name. Might slightly set you apart against another candidate, but it won’t do anything if you can’t speak to how you’ve used it. I think it’s more helpful in development, as opposed to creative project management. That’s largely babysitting. Either way, if your employer will pay for it, sure, go for it. Don’t pay out of pocket for it. It’s way too expensive
@VP, can you collaborate on why? What skills have you seen from PMP hires that has been lacking in those without?? Thanks!
Yes, without question. I hire pmp's before anyone else
Not valuable in advertising.
It's great for optics, esp government or IT. If your more platform or product based the theory is useful at building a sustainable process. Banners and emails? Most likely an overkill.
Helpful for interview but I’ve worked with a lot of PMPs who are worthless, too grounded in theory and do not manage practicality. It’s frankly the last thing i “look” for and not a qualifier from me to HR to weed out candidates, it is a differentiator which shows progression qualities though. Will choose someone with combination of advanced degree, experience and track record of delivery all day long. Agree with @SRPM1 - way too expensive - a development tool. Remember, Just be delivered ahead of schedule, cheaper, and with less resources than planned. Always. It’s always about the client.
This industry may not care as much but in engineering, software dev, construction, aerospace it's a very desired cert. I don't know many PMs that want to stay at an agency for their entire career... PMP will open doors.
I’d like to hide in the forest forever for typing collaborate instead of ELABORATE but what’s done is done 😂😂😂
