I do chase preferred and the Amex Platinum. Gives you the best of both worlds
Do the math. The card that is better for you really depends on your own spending and redemption plans. There are plenty of spreadsheets available online that can help you do the comparison if you don't want to build it out yourself.
Between travel credit, dash pass etc I feel the cost is worth it. They did a nice job pivoting benefits in the pandemic so think they are trying to run it well for the mobile jet set type. Points are good complement with hotel/airline miles. Service is great, I had them overnight a replacement card while I was in Central Asia, got there in less than 2 days
Trust what you research is telling you. There’s no secret sauce
The travel credit is worth it, but csp has higher bonus right now. You can always get csr after 4 yrs or upgrade after one year
CSR has been amazing based on my spending, but, as others said, it depends on YOUR spending. Just do the math and it'll take you what to do.
Personally CSP is better bang for buck for me but if you travel a lot, CSR would probably be better. They did raise the annual fee tho by $100
It’s 100% been worth it for me due to the travel credit ($300), free dash pass (probably saved $500 this year), and benefits like 3 free months of peloton service ($39x3). Then the points rack up fast as well.
