Is there any added value in your referral being a current SF employee, versus a former employee (former emp. was a VP left on very good terms)? I’m sure the difference is negligible and moot if the resume isn’t good enough. Trying to find whatever edge I can! TIA!

I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.

This is absurd. Am I missing some “new way” of doing things? Your take?
