Currently our marketing team is of one (me) and we outsource quite a bit of other tasks as we continue to grow. I manage a junior developer that's been with the company for about 18 months. I end up providing them of TON of support. I need to give them extremely detailed instructions or they fail. For bugs, I need to point them to a specific function that's causing the bug. For new features, I'm basically writing their method signatures and defining their test cases.

I've tried asking them to do more on their own, but when I do, they fail spectacularly.

Moved from agency after 6yrs, into a startup (€8m Series A, high growth); first marketing hire.
