It's a really good day when I can sit across the table with a Marine I served with in Afghanistan and know that I'm about to change her life for the better. I'm fairly confident we can get her VA rating from 30% to 100%.
That's a good Monday!

Oh boy. All these vets eager to file fraudulent claims so they can get their 100%. Have some self respect and honesty, people.

So I used to think that as well until I learned more about the rating system, why it’s in place, and what I’m entitled to given my service.

Working with a VSO or someone like OP, you will have a consultation on what’s in your medical records, what you’ve claimed, and if there are any gaps. They aren’t there to make up ailments and falsify treatment.

The biggest help when I went through the process is understanding how exams work and what they are evaluating me for. Just Bc my back is 9/10 on exam day, doesn’t discount the impact of my injury and how it was 2/10 last week and 4/10 the week before that.

Been hesitating to go to the VA for years. Never registered.

Yea. I have a buddy who had Catholic guilt about it for years. He’s 70% now. Look at it as your money earned that you’ll need for the ailments you will have later. If you don’t, there will be always be some HR E4 who never left the wire that will anyway.

I was at Leatherneck in ‘09 - LSA 2 baby!

Same here :(

OP, will getting into reserves have any effect on the existing VA rating?

I did this. Only in the sense that you are required to report to your unit that you have a rating. As you take federal money twice out of one pot - your VA payments will take whatever drill pay back.

That's awesome! I'm actually going back through the process now; glad they have you on their side.

What rating can you get for full ACL reconstruction and multiple instability episodes/MRIs since?

I had full reconstruction for ankle and shoulder, bad back and a terrible case of tinnitus. Knees are shot too. Only 30%. Back is worse now and hurts to stand long enough to do dishes.

Would love to know how to how to get back actually looked at and taken seriously by the VA.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

We need a smart, nimble media buyer/planner that can lead a cool set of travel brands (a hotel brand, a destination, a resort, a luxury development). Hybrid buyer/ account lead.

Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?
