I totally disconnected my profession from my normal home life. As a father I teach my children about good values, morals and doing the right things regardless or who is looking or who is doing what. I think if more people thought for themselves and their families instead of relying on social media we’d be in a better place as a society.
My 5 tenets:
Manners
Passion
Pragmatism
Never half ass it
And question authority
To be kind, work hard, and have fun. That’s like 90% of the battle.
Well, that is indeed a shocker and messed up at some point. We let our kid know that we love him no matter what. Win or lose the big game, good grades or bad. Even when we’re mad at him. We make sure that he knows that we think they’re great — and not just when they does great things — will bolster their self worth even when they’re not feeling good about themselves.
We always try to boost our kids' self-esteem. Apparently, kids start developing their sense of self as babies when they see themselves through their parents' eyes. Your tone of voice, your body language, and your every expression are absorbed by your kids. Your words and actions as a parent affect their developing self-esteem more than anything else.
Trying to be a good role model for them. Kids learn a lot about how to act by watching their parents. The younger they are, the more cues they take from you.
