I've ended up on a grad scheme for a role that's more operational than I'd like. I'm not very positive about my prospects with it.

I'm interested in quant trading, strategies and research. Which exit strategy should I try?

1. Stick the grad scheme out to the end (1.5 years left) and try to get an Associate role immediately after.

2. Leave early, and start a new grad scheme in one of the above fields.

For more context, I'm relatively young for my experience level and I took a quant degree.

Also at blk and I'd suggest leaving earlier rather than later. Changing roles and teams here is very difficult so you'll be stuck in your team for a while. I'm in the same boat and didn't leave when I should have, so now I'm stuck if I stay at blk

Thanks for the feedback! Just got a whole bunch of applications started. Honestly I'm thankful I'm still quite young and didn't wait any longer before thinking about this, otherwise it'd be impossible to try this route (which I think is almost guaranteed)

Embrace the mobility of being able to change and shift gears. You won't be able to as easily later in life. So I would suggest switching it up now and figuring out if it is the right decision or not through practice.

Great advice I think you're right. I'll never be in this position again, so I might as well try to use the additional flexibility to my benefit

Come over to the dark side where moving teams and departments are normalized and encouraged

Sure if you find a relevant role

I got rejected for an interview from Big 4 NY Audit, even had referrals from Manager + level people. 3 years w/ audit senior at mid size firm, 2 years fed tax at big 4, and 1.5 years Internal Audit healthcare. Currently self employed for a year to work on investing. Do I literally need a partner level referral to get back into Audit? I thought there was an accountant shortage.

Hi, where or what types of companies should sophomores & juniors apply for next summer (2022) to recruit for IB the following summer (2023)? This summer BBs wrapped up SA IB recruitment, EBs even earlier, and a fair amount of my friends missed out big time.

Also, if a sophomore or junior doesn’t get a finance-related summer internship (I.e tech) and aims for an IB SA or FT position, is it harder to break in?

Appreciate any advice and insight, thank you.

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's ALM in Management. They both have the same requirements (generally speaking) including a capstone course that serves as a field immersion course with the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?

Hello fellow SAP Consultants!
I am SAP HCM consultant having 4.10 years of experience. I feel that this module doesn’t have any growth. My first switch took me to 9LPA from 6LPA and now the second switch is being offered for 11.5LPA where I can see my fellow friends in SAP having more than 15LPA at the same experience on their second switch itself. Should I be worried about my skillset? Any insights would highly be appreciated. I feel stuck.

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Any thoughts around how to use M&A tax skills for the better good?
