What are people's thoughts on LES near the East Broadway station? Especially safety wise?
Would be taking the subway to union square every day.
I know there's some projects nearby and I've heard that station can get a bit seedy. Born and raised in SF so I'm used to homelessness but are there a lot around there? Been attacked a few times in SF recently so something I'm concerned about.

Dumb question warning - How are new medical procedures approved and assigned CPT codes?? Is there a world in which we could add/reclassify different variations of abortion codes to create more exceptions in the strictest banned states?

I got on the scale this morning and I lost 10 lbs. 3 lbs from my goal weight. I’m really proud of myself, though I don’t want to talk about it publicly, so I’m posting here. Next goal: run a 10K.

Anyone want to share some general goals for their in-house legal department in 2021? Please include size of org/legal department for comparison. I thought others might benefit too.
How different is litigating in-house vs. in private practice? I’m tired of litigating in private practice and am contemplating a move to an in-house litigation role with a public university—but the pay will definitely be less, so I don’t want to make the switch if it is going to just be the same hamster wheel. Any one made the jump and have thoughts/advice?
Transitioning from law firm life after 6 years to corporate counsel in house position. Any good book recommendations to read before transitioning over?
When is an appropriate time to send a follow up email after interviewing? Is a week too soon?
I just joined a company as their first legal hire in a heavily regulated industry. I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the work that needs to get done. In the next year or so, what’s the best way to approach it? I want to make a year long plan but at the same point I’m dealing with all the fire drills that come up on a daily basis.
Started an in-house job after leaving a firm. I love it. Looking back on my old job, I now realize how gaslighted and manipulated I was. People at the new job treat me with such respect, it feels amazing (also sad that my bar is now so low).
As a result, I'm super motivated to do a good job and deliver, but this is a BIG job, one where I can't come close to clearing my plate every week. I'm working 12 hour days to be as responsive as I can, but I know that's a recipe for burnout. Advice?
Anyone work in house at Crown Castle or American Tower. I'm interested in hearing about it
I currently do L&E at a national firm. I want to go in-house but I live in a small-ish market. I would LOVE a remote position. How do you go about finding these kinds of positions and does anyone know of completely remote employment-related in-house positions?
Do people really ever get jobs through cold interviews from job postings? I’ve been trying it for years, done alot of third-round interviews and such, all generally positive experiences, but every job I’ve ever landed has involved a personal recommendation, warm intro, or someone I’ve worked with at a previous role or as a competitor, etc. A fair number of the jobs I’ve notice go “unfilled” with postings remaining up for months or years after. Most places draw out the process 2+ months.
Has anyone heard about an offer for employment be rescinded because the background check showed a drivers license suspension 2 years ago due to a third party firm error not informing me on the results of the disputed ticket and requirement to pay ticket fees within specified time. The drivers license has since been in good order and is currently valid but the record shows a past suspension for a speeding ticket.
When negotiating multiple job offers, has anyone ever been asked to show proof of the other offers? Not at all trying to make things up, but I’m just thinking about how I’m going to navigate this and I’m curious?
I’m in big law and on the cusp of making the jump to in-house. It sounds like the company I just interviewed with is getting ready to make me an offer. It’s definitely going to be a pay cut coming from big law but I do get some nice equity in the company. Is the jump worth it? I’m so burnt out by big law and this seems like an awesome opportunity to help shape a newish company. Any tips on how to figure out if this is the right move for me?
What does it mean if the company is “going through internal processes?” I am done with the interviews and I should’ve heard back at least a week ago.
Any GC’s hiring a second year biglaw PE associate? I’m taking first cut of the purchase agreement, can completely run diligence/schedules on my own, largely draft most ancillaries with minimal edits (resos, consents/notices/released, contracts, employment/grant agreements, formation, contribution, assignment, subscription, redemption, etc) and am great with organizing and tracking deal progress. Barred in NY
What can I expect at a Google Product Counsel interview?? Do the questions change the further along I go?
