Just got an Amex gold -> plat upgrade offer 100k MR $6k spend.

I had a regular plat. Closed a couple years ago.
I opened an amex gold and a Schwab plat (both of which I have currently, both opened over 1 year ago).
I received an offer to upgrade my amex gold to plat.

Can I take the offer then downgrade the Schwab plat to gold? Are there ever any better upgrade offers than 100k? Any other considerations? Timing issues?
