Hey guys, Since I am working in Deloitte and right now, I am working from home. I want to go Nepal for 2 months and I want to work from there. Do I need to tell my manager or simply I can go there and start my work. Is there any obligation?
Note- I don't want to tell anyone. Since it may backfire sometimes

it's going to be okay.
What the others have said. It will work out.
And congrats on being given the most important, wonderful job you’ll ever have
Both of those things are blessings! We’ve all seen how often layoffs turn into the best possible thing. And a baby?! Take this from someone who’s 9months pregnant... it never ever ever stops being scary no matter how secure your job is.
What VP1 just said. I have a 3-month old and had been freelancing for the entire pregnancy and and all during my daughter's first months of life. I was terrified at first but that little human is the biggest source of positive energy and motivation I have ever encountered. Congrats on the little life inside you, and believe me, things tend to work out. Thankfully you have a partner, lean on them for mental support. Youre gonna be just fine long term.
You got this.
I’m so sorry to hear this :/ sending hugs
It’s going to be ok! I was in a similar situation when I had my kiddo. It wound up working in my favor.
If you want to be in-house with Medical 100% Paid for, 12 weeks paid Parental leave, unlimited PTO (real kind where your manager actually wants you to take it), and great comp then hit me up in a DM. We are hiring a copywriter for immediate start.
You can do it! It’s gonna be ok. At the 3% Conference yesterday, a recruiter told me that if you don’t look pregnant yet, don’t tell anyone until an offer has been made. Once it has been made, make it 100% known and apparent that you’re pregnant. Use this in your offer negotiations because most places don’t allow maternity leave/new mother benefits to set in until after a year of working there, but you’ll need them before then. Good luck!
I got laid off at 16 weeks It sucks but you’ll be okay.
I had a very similar experience. In the immediate it’s hard to be positive but ultimately while it may sound empty and cliche but this will be a blessing in disguise. Allow yourself to be upset because it sucks but give yourself goals for the future and be try to be proactive about your next steps (if you want). Most importantly that baby and your family are your top priority - try and concentrate on how amazing your next chapter will be!
Everything will work out, and that might mean things work out in different ways, through opportunities that might not be what you’re used to (e.g. non-agency, consultant, freelance, etc.) and that’s ok—maybe it’s better, even. If you’ve got insurance from your partner then that’s one less thing to stress about. You’re strong and healthy, keep that top of mind for the lil’ babe in your belly. That’s most important. The other stuff will fall into place. You got this 💪
Congrats! I have several friends who have taken jobs at various points in their pregnancy. Don’t let it stop you from applying!!!
I freelanced the year I was pregnant and made the most money I’ve ever made.
Publicis 1 - is the type of person to give this sad example of “pragmatic” advice, then post anonymously in Fishbowl about “why the humanity has gone out of advertising.” Relax, and don’t confuse your know it all whinging with common sense.
Copywriter - That is wonderful news, and staying positive and in a good mindset is key. Use your first months to gain some footing and speak to recruiters. All will be well. You have a huge gift on the way :)
Think big picture. At the end of the day, a job is a job. Your health and the baby come first. You are going to be more than ok, and an amazing parent. Congrats!!!!
Digitas hired me 4 months pregnant and gave me 10 weeks paid maternity. With vacation and flex days, I received the 12 weeks paid maternity leave I was hoping for. Note: my previous company gave me 6 weeks paid and I was there 4 years. You will find a company that values you, including your little one on the way. Good luck!
It will all be good. Trust me, being a mom requires more creativity than you can even begin to imagine. And it will make you a stronger creative when you do return to the freelance or full time ranks.
It's going to be okay
I was hired at a new job while pregnant and it all worked out well. They saw my hire as a long term thing and weren’t worried about me going on maternity leave a few months after starting. It does happen! Enjoy the amazing time being pregnant and time with the baby, regardless. Stay positive because things do have a funny way of all working out, especially if you stay focused on what truly makes you happy and fulfilled.
Wish you luck and stay positive. Things have a way of working themselves out. Congrats on the little one
It will be ok! Have faith!
