Is that even legal? Not hiring someone because they are too old?
Apparently yes if you play your cards right and not explicitly say, "You're to old". It's like not hiring people because they're not the right race or gender. Though just can't be explicit about it. And it's not worth it to sue Bennettthey the bar is very high to prove it and then when if you win it win destroyv your career.
The legal threshold for protection from age discrimination is age 40, but there are definitely jobs you're implicitly too old for at 30. The tech sector in particular is notorious for age discrimination and I've heard it starts at 35 there.
