If you have cash that you want to invest. Please consider Treasury Series I Savings Bond (Electronic). Interest is 7.12% right now. While it's not guaranteed that the 7.12% will remain until next year, it's still a good deal.
My SO and I just invested 20k (10k max per person even married).

L6 = L5...well a senior L5 at google.
But anyway. I think my equity refresh was 70k last year (split over 4 years), also we get refreshes every year.
So....yeah... I think current situation is a bit rough
DM me if you ever need a referral.
So I’ve been at Amazon 5 years, already fully vested from my initial offering. Since then, I’ve only received 4 total RSUs (2 from my promotion) so I’m only leaving behind 4 RSUs if I leave.
This is very discouraging. I’m working on my promo doc to go to L6. My comp is around the same as yours at L5.
Also, for those asking, my comp breaks down as such currently:
Base: 175K
RSU: 4
When I was initially hired, my comp breakdown was:
Base: 164K
RSU: 80
Signing bonus: 30-40K (can’t remember the exact amount honestly)
What is your salary and benefits like? Do you enjoy your job? No idea what a L6 corresponds to but it may not be unreasonable at all. What were you told you would get at your level?

You should look at what your actual compensation will be at current market price.
I agree that 2 RSU is very little. I also know that Amazon typically back weights stock, so if you’ve been there 2 years (which I assume since you got promoted), you’re walking away from significant comp.
I would stay if your external market comp is less than your current comp.
Seems very low.
just curious and hope this isn’t an insensitive question but are you a male or female?
Male, why?
No one can tell you any insight or advice unless you state what your TC is.
I also manage a team but don’t have the official manager title in the system (still IC), which can’t believe that’s legal tbh lol. Been managing since January 2021
Equity grants are irrelevant in a vacuum, it’s just one portion of total comp. would suggest you evaluate total comp to assess whether you are fairly paid
Right, but I’m almost certain I can get the exact same base (if not slightly higher) PLUS potentially a signing bonus and/or RSUs at the least. Therefore, I believe I am being slightly underpaid atm. Again, not taking what I’m earning or have earned for granted, but gotta maximize opportunities (esp while I’m still young) 😁
