Deposit ASAP, there is a limit on that deposit before you have to pay fees on the money. Don’t want to let it pass, if you are unsure of investing right now deposit it in the account and keep it cash/money market

Not true for direct rollover

Why not just put it in the cash option until you feel comfortable investing?

like

You only have 60 days to reinvest it. You might as well buy while the market is low.

like

OP - deposit it into a cash or treasury equivalent fund

until the market stabilises?

D1 - if it’s made out to the plan FBO OP, then the 60 day timeline doesn’t apply (aka direct rollover)

Yeah it’s made out to FBO my name

New to investing, but want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. I've maxed out my 401K and am looking to open an IRA. I know everyone recommends backdooring this into a Roth IRA, but if my plan is to move/retire to a state with no state income tax, wouldn't traditional make more sense? Or am I overthinking this? Also, if I go the backdoor route, how do I make sure I don't get taxed again, when i convert to a Roth? Thanks in advance!

Hey Fb friends - need an advise. My current firm hasn’t stated my GC process yet and with current processing time it appears to be somewhere around 12-15 months time to get PERM approved. In addition my current firm needs leadership approval & they make me sign a reimbursement form in case I quit. On other hand, I have approved i40 from my ex-employer (Big4) who fired me last fall, I don’t know if they will hire me back. Since I am from India and the date of filing appears like going to be…cont.

Thoughts on Indexed Universal Life Insurance as an investment vehicle? I hear the pros and cons from the sellers of this, whom I understand gain heavy commissions. But wanted to get thoughts from investors and if this isn't a good vehicle, what alternative investment vehicles do you suggest (outside of stocks, Roth, 401k, and real estate)? Looking to diversify my portfolio. I'm 43, married, income 600k combined, and we have 2 properties worth 3m and investment accounts worth ~2-3m. Thanks!

Beginner and trying to get my finances in order. Income: $200k+. Maxed out 401k for the year. I have $60k in my savings account (just paid student debt off this year). I’ve searched the bowl… Are next steps: (a) invest (maybe $30k?) in ETFs and add to it each month, (b) open a HYS at HMBradley to hopefully get a high interest next quarter? I’m not convinced about the mega back door Roth (whether it makes sense for my situation) so putting in only a small amount there. Any thoughts? TIA!
