One more slightly different recommendation (I endorse all of the above as well): if you at all enjoy pork chops, then Perry’s is the place. The preparation and presentation alone of the (TX-sized) pork chop is phenomenal. If you go for lunch on Friday, you can even get a pork chop (albeit a slightly smaller portion) and two sides for $20. Best lunch deal around.
Perry’s pork chops are ah-mazing.
Hm, good questions, Monarch is phenomenal but I wouldn’t call it a classic Dallas experience, bobs is good as mentioned, but I’d do the one not in the Omni hotel (it’s good, but the other one is the real experience), Nick and Sam’s is great, Al Biernat is a favorite, but do Oaklawn, not the one up north, both are fine, oaklawn just has a better atmosphere. Pappas brothers is really great as well.
4.3 is average at best. Michelin has sold out. I won’t rely on a French tire company magazine to tell me what tastes good. Monarch is in fact over salted Outback Steakhouse food.
Al Biernats for the "classic" high end steak house vibe.
Knife for a more modern high end vibe.
Nick & Sam’s
If you’re chasing the quintessential Dallas scene, Nick & Sam’s is your destination—a glittering parade of energy, glamour, and indulgence. Just be ready to settle the kind of check that keeps the champagne flowing. Prefer something with a touch more tradition? Bob’s on Lemmon Avenue, the original and still the classic, offers refined dining with a price tag that’s indulgent, yet gentler than Nick & Sam’s. And for those who appreciate timeless value, step into the retro charm of Dunston’s on Lovers Lane, where the quality endures and the price feels like a well-kept secret. With these three, it’s impossible to miss the mark.
