I am starting to interview for some in house roles and starting to evaluate comp. How do folks in house see/value their incentive compensation (which vests over a number of years). Is it just something I bank on in a few years?

Google said team wants wants to advance me to hiring committee (completed onsite interview). Emailed me asking for comp expectations - have no idea how to approach. They shared a very wide range at beginning. Is there a risk in throwing an outrageous number? Don’t want to undersell either
