Varies a bit by region, but with 3 YOE youâre deff safe applying for an SBA role but associate is possible if your interview performance was fantastic. Other thing to keep in mind OP is that progression cycles are fairly quick. If you came in at SBA, youâve got a fair shot to make associate within a year assuming performance matches up.
Excellent, thanks so much for this! Itâs for the UAE firm if that makes a difference. Good to hear it can be quick progression though. Thanks again!
Generally speaking, all MBAâs come in as associates, any other advanced degrees and/or industry hires come in as Senior Business Analysts. I would probably target the associate role with your background and assuming youâre confident with case interviews. I agree with the other advice that SBA may be the safer choice. The time to promotion is very quick for SBAs since there is such a wide range of experience within the group.
Thanks K2! Iâve actually never done a case interview but starting to prep at the moment so I donât know how Iâd stack up against others with more experience in it!
I would recommend targeting SBA unless you already have close to a year experience in the post-MBA equivalent role at your firm. BA â> Associate is generally 3YOE (varies slightly by region) for our hires straight out of undergrad, but you will be compared to applicants with MBAs and generally 4+ YOE going for the associate role
Thanks K3. SBA it is!
