When is the good time to tell the company that I am 3 months pregnant. My date of joining is 18th of July. I understand by law I need to finish 80days with the company before I avail maternity benefits which I can easily do in next 3 months.
I want to understand if women who go on maternity leave during probation are treated differently or if there will be discrimination once I let them know about my situation. Wipro Accenture Allstate Quantiphi analytics pvt ltd.

It’s going to be ok. You’re going to be ok. We’re all going to be ok. You’re no less talented or employable than you were yesterday....and next job you’ll have a better title and be more creative and happier. Hang in there.

For the next 3 weeks you’ll get another1800 in cares loans, so you’ll double your money, and they’re gonna extend, I’d bet 400/wk. you won’t be homeless. Money may be tight though. But people are always accusing our generation of being soft. Stiff upper lip. It does suck, but you worked really hard to get here, you’re talented, have valuable skills and worth, others value you as well.

Account Director OP: Immediate disruptions aside, you will be fine in the long term. You will get through this. Really. Most of the things we worry about are not actually that bad in the end.
Here’s something light to read on this topic that might help you get through tonight.
Colorado agency - everyone received 8 weeks severance regardless of tenure.
It was definitely super helpful - it’s now been 3 months of unemployment and it was taxed significantly so the fund has run out, but compared to some other employers I’ve read about on here it seems kinder than others.

BBDO gives a paltry 2 weeks for the first year (plus one additional week severance for every year you were there). Friend of mine who was brand side in finance was in-house for a little over a year and got 6 months severance. Agencies are beyond abusive.

Less than a year here, got 2 weeks. It’s making my unemployment application confusing at the moment though.
5 months in, got a month severance.

That SVP title coming in handy.

BBDO gives two weeks severance if you’ve been there less than two years. Or a week for every year if you’ve been there longer than two years. Hope that helps.
Thanks. Wow. Even two weeks isn’t a lot is it? How do people pay their rent? Just sat here panicking because I know the inevitable discussion is coming tomorrow 😓
Thanks. It’s so draining. UK Government had a job retention scheme where are you could be temporarily put on furlough but I think it’s finished now so I’m being canned and with no protections, which I think my agency knew. Don’t know how much longer I can stay in this volatile industry TBH.
Two weeks and taxed as a bonus.

Same!! Should have gotten 2000 after taxes. Got 1400 😹
My friend was laid off in UK under a year and got 5 months!!!
Woah! Can you tell me where? DM if you like
Was employed for 4months they gave me 1week. I negotiated 1mo health coverage and tech access.
I said something like my contribution will last longer than my tenure therefore I would like etc... please let me know if that is doable
I was at my agency 8 months and they gave me 2 weeks
Yea that’s US for you, our severance is shameful. Europe has better standards
My partner was made redundant this month, and got nothing - they just terminated his contract with his notice period. OP: I see you’re in the UK too, and unfortunately payoffs aren’t very good here. Doesn’t hurt to ask though. Remember, you can bring a witness to the meeting, and if you feel you’ve been singled out unfairly there’s a case to be made. That being said, it’s a hard case to make these days!
He was in a production house, so not agency as such. I’m in an indie and we’re doing pay cuts to try to avoid redundancies. Fingers crossed that strategy works!

Are you in London? Also WK? Will you keep health benefits from the the system there? Can you move outside the city a bit? I suppose you are slightly lucky that the train system is so good, could live on a farm and still be in city within an hour.
How did it go, OP?
Ps. Have you considered talking to NABS? They have lots of great info and I believe they’re doing grants that you can apply for.
