Doesn't matter the title. $100K+ after taxes isn't "peanuts" unless you have a gambling problem or stripper problem or don't know how to manage your money. I'm assuming at least the latter for sure for several reasons.
1. You're choosing to spend $7 on eggs when you can get the exact eggs for half that cost elsewhere. Even Amazon Prime Now has a dozen XL brown organic eggs for $4.49.
2. You're choosing to spend 50% of your income on rent. That's $4K+ per month. Sure, there are luxury apartments that much in Santa Monica or Marina del Rey, but there are plenty of places that aren't, even in those towns. Also, plenty of people with your income (even as a joint couple) purchase real estate here. Perhaps your expectations are a bit unrealistic.
I did lol @ "super senior leads" though. And while I can't speak to UX salaries, my Account Director makes $170K. I'm sure you likely have an idea what your account leads make to make a somewhat relative comparison with that.
Cmon havas, how much do u havas?
Stfu epsilon. "I'm 160k and after taxes that's peanuts"... actually it's still 100k+ take home
So regardless of my snark about after tax being peanuts, do you guys not think that our salaries are too low? Look at inflation! Salaries are not in line with inflation or housing costs. Are you guys defending lower salaries?
I had a sr. ui/ux designer offer for 120k if it's any help
160k. Peanuts. Christ dude.
I make little more than half of that and live in LA. I have no sympathy.
Organic eggs* are $7
Amen^^
👨🏻💻
That's unbelievably low!
I'm at 160k.
Which, after taxes, is peanuts.
I'm at Director and not in LA.
Your profile shows u as havas1, if u r @director.
@OP big reason I turned it down lol
Do you pay rent in this town, integrated producer? Do you know what people make in NYC?
Yes. Did I stutter?
The question was what lead ux designers were making, not pm's.
OP are you at 160k and freelance? Meaning no health plan, share plan or 401k, vacation?
Not freelance, on staff. I'm working for a startup, I'm looking to compare what other super senior leads are making too. IMO, the price of eggs keeps rising $7 /dozen, rents are now at 50% of most incomes, when they should be 20%.
If you didn't buy real estate already many years ago, you're not going to buy as a single person at160k, that's for sure.
