I know a ton of people at SC who only did 12 months in industry and came back as managers.
Pro
Probably 1-2 years should do the trick, but obviously factor in supply/demand at the practice. May be closer to the 1 year mark if you are boomeranging and can get someone of influence there to back you
Two years
Ask yourself why you want though? Is the grass always greener on the other side.
To be frank I had spent a great deal of my career in the management consulting space and transitioned over to tech - which is nice but it’s given the right perspective in terms of where my skills like and I’d be better suited as a mentor to consultants with industry experience then vice versa
