Can you precharge your car rental to one car and then change it after returning? Want to use the CSR in case I need primary car insurance, but would get more points on another card. Heard this was
How much do phone screenings actually matter? I am very excited about the position that I interviewed for and spoke so fast that I was winded after the call :/
Do you spend your entire per diem? Or do you prefer low-cost food options (chipotle for example) and save the rest of the per diem?
My company is bleeding talent! I took up a PM role 3 months ago at a not-so-hot smaller tech company. When I joined there were 8 PMs. Today, 6 of those have quit and 3 of those are in the past 3 weeks. We’ve hired 3 more since I joined. I haven’t built deep enough relationships here to probe about their reasons for leaving, but I’m really concerned. The company is undergoing many changing priorities and acquisitions in play which definitely could be why. What would you do in my shoes?
What’s the best way to explain per diem?
Canadian living in the US, should I max out my 401k? Not sure if I’m going to stay in the US for the long term or move away. Employer will match but there’s a 4year vest
If you apply for a remote position, will they adjust your salary based on where you live?
2 years into this job and already flagged as "pre-hypertensive" in annual health screening (all other metrics the same as 2 years ago). Guys don't forget to breathe!
Ex-kpmg employee here so can’t post in that bowl but does anyone here know how pension plan works? I was vested based on time with firm but does the money stay there til retirement or can you request lump sum payout and invest it how you want? Thanks!
Anyone heard of Equitable Financial? They’re trying to pitch some life insurance investment vehicle for tax benefits. Sounds like BS but want to hear from other
Curious to know, have you dated or currently with someone with mental health issues? My SO suffers from it and I don’t know how to help him. He takes different medications for it which causes his mood to vary from day to day. The medications combined with his drinking and getting high, I worry about his overall health. Sometimes he just makes me feel like shitty person. I’m not trying to be selfish, but it does affect me. How do I handle this? Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it all.
Actively looking for an HR generalist role! Does anyone know any roles opening up soon in your companies? My background: have a BBA in HRM, MSHRM, and SHRM-CP certification. One year and a couple of months in EY’s People Advisory practice, and some HR internship experiences. I’ve done work with the talent team on my projects in the past. I’m looking to go internal ASAP so let me know if you have advice or know of any roles opening in your company 🙂
Transitioning to another big4 advisory practice next month. Worried about networking and learning a new role virtually. Any advice? Anyone else make a transition during COVID?
Thoughts on ABS trading at a BB? What type of transferable skills do you gain if HF isn’t your desired exit?
I will be interviewing with Google for Healthcare products. Please share interview tips with Google, this is the first time I will be interviewing with one of the FAANG companies. Thank you
I’m applying for an industry job and the company has no parental leave benefits whatsoever. Even FMLA is just unpaid 12 weeks and require 1 yr of service. HR rep literally said “my kid is 18, I don’t
Anyone get acupuncture? (Chicago) I know sometimes it’s covered under our insurance. Where do you like to go?
What are some of your favorite Breastfeeding friendly work clothes?? Trying to balance warmth for winter and functionality...style too but given covid wfh am less concerned with looking super nice.
I might actually work for the worst partner in BigLaw. Literally tries to crush my soul. And I’m not sure why, I always try to over deliver. I was planning on leaving for another firm but Covid happened. I feel stuck and helpless, but I’m thankful that I still have income. This isn’t a question, just a statement and cry for help.
My house got egged and tped over the weekend. I took it upon myself to reach out to the parents and let them know I've already called the cops but wanted to reach out to you first before the cop shows up on your door. 1 set of parents immediately shifted blame to me and bashed me as a teacher and told me they think I have it out for their son and didn't address the situation at hand. How can I move forward with this situation?
Car trouble has me spending the night in rural Pennsylvania. For any of you dreamers thinking this might be the remote life you're ready to live, I promise you it is not. Although, I did just see one of the absolute strangest local pawnshop ads ever. Think low budget, high-school-theater version of how Tim and Eric might do it, except unironically and lacking any real "show my face in public again after this." So if you're a GCD or up, 80% chance you'd love the ad scene here.
For people who start a new job in the remote environment, where’d you start and how was it? Easier than before, about the same, or more difficult?
health-ish tip of the day! if it’s a good weather day, opt for a lunch outside! i feel so much better with lunch, coffee, and this breeze. specifically directed to NYC fish because the weather is 💯
That moment when the call admin mutes your line when your kid starts crying in the background...
People who schedule their wedding on holiday weekends are the worst. I’m not changing my holiday plans for you…
Advise working with a coworker who doesn't "answer the question directly": I just joined a new company and I am starting to work with a coworker but I feel like he tends to deflect my questions all the time and he often gives a vague/BS answer. FOR EXAMPLE, I stepped in reviewing the list of deliverables needed for the project, I provided my input but instead of discussing the actual context, he would just gave me a bunch of historical background information. How do I "cut to the chase"?
can you appeal a prescription insurance claim? I was not told it would cost me over 2k just for 90 pilIs I do not need (theyre anti inflammatory meds, instruction says "take as needed")
If I get an offer elsewhere, with a higher salary offer, will Deloitte increase my salary to keep me?
Honest question- In this time where women are striving for equality and men need to play a key role in making this happen, why do we have women only conferences? How does alienating men help? #GHC19😑
Anyone have HBDI certification? Is it worth it?
Anybody leave big law for a couple of years to raise your kids and successfully rejoined the legal field? Is big law ever an option again?
Anyone have insight on what the logistics of leaving Deloitte are? Give two weeks, do I need to tell project leadership? Can I sell my PTO or should I use it? Anything else I need to do? Thanks in advance.
