If only that were the solution - it may seem hyperbolic or exaggerated but that is the expectation that was placed on me, and I met it. It's less of a brag and more of a reality. Only explaining since your comment, while it could have been intended to be a huge compliment, seemed disingenuous, and if it wasn't the case then my sincerest apologies.
Sorry, didn't mean to sound disingenuous. More just shock really. I don't know a single associate (or partner for that matter) in biglaw that bills that amount, mostly because comp and bonuses tend to plateau around 2500 hours. At $500 an hour that's almost $2.2 million in revenue for the firm. Even maxing out bonuses won't get the average big law associate anywhere close to that in comp. I just hope you're extremely well compensated and are ok dedicating that much of your life to your job. If you are, cool cool cool.
I genuinely appreciate your response, truly. Unfortunately, compared to what I'm bringing in, I don't think that the compensation matches my pull, which is one part of my desire to transition, though not the biggest. When I'm met with an expectation, I tend to meet it despite how insane it may seem, and that's where I am at unfortunately. I met it, fought tooth and nail to get there, and now it just seems to be the maintained expectation and that's not sustainable when trying to build a career but also a life.
