Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not selfish, and it cannot be made angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it.  Love is never happy when others do wrong, but it is always happy with the truth.  Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits. Love will never end.
Humbled and convicted reading this, but thankful as this is Jesus love towards us

Why are so many people now insisting on using webcam on internal conference calls? It degrades audio quality and exposes our personal surroundings. I am hoping this urge wears off after a few weeks. 🧐

I gave hr round last week and hr just said he will get back to me by tuesday my lwd is 10/6/22
I have not recieved any information about offer letter or selection/rejection

What do you think will happen?

I found a great great home near family perfect location to things, decent size, but is expensive. I don’t have $120k to just drop for the down payment (I want to have money left to furnish or just spend) my salary is under 6figs and even if it wasn’t I feel like it’s still not enough to rack up $60k within 1ish year. Does anyone have any side business or alternative income ideas to earn more money? I don’t wanna go an FHA loan for the 3.5% cause mortgage will be very high. Thoughts?

Thinking about making the move to BDO in the DC area in tax. How is it over there?

I heard someone make a bold statement that contributing to a traditional 401k versus a Roth 401k were the exact same assuming the same tax rate. I ran the numbers and to my surprise they were not wrong (even considering the earnings). Can anyone explain why a Roth would ever make sense given that income will likely be lower and therefore lower tax rate in retirement?

Need some advice/ thoughts: a year ago the the person I thought it was the love of my life dumped me. She went radio silent and hasn’t spoken to me since. So recently I noticed that on our classes WhatsApp (we met during our EMBA) and I noticed she comments whenever I comment. About three weeks ago people stated posting summer get together pics and she didn’t comment on any of them. And then another classmate posted a Muslim holiday post…no comment. And she always comments on those. Continue:

Like a lot of others, I’m underpaid. I’ve been with my company for 3 years having worked various roles and have been working as a researcher for a couple years now.

Our org is restructuring and part of that is salaries are being reviewed and adjusted.

What are the chances I get the adjustment I deserve? They will need to bump me up 35%. Am I being foolish or do I need to look elsewhere?

I’m a 7-8ish years out director of legal at a small media company. I’ve been here about 3 years and want out, but I’m not sure whether it’s the right time considering that I don’t want to go to a giant company with tons of lawyers (I get emails from Netflix, roku, Viacom recruiters frequently). My goal job is to be the first legal hire at a media startup and eventually build out my own team. Am I too early for that?

As we begin our preparations for Easter, I pray that you all have a blessed Lenten season.

"By the sweat of your brow

you shall eat bread,

Until you return to the ground,

from which you were taken;

For you are dust,

and to dust you shall return."

For those who work in public schools - how do you manage maintaining your faith without also promoting too heavily, things which are contrary to it? I am increasingly struggling with this. Thank you

Hi I’m new here. Just wanted to say hi. Is anyone having difficulty with CRT being pushed? I’m being forced into training but have been told by an attorney for The International Christian Education Association I cannot be forced to provide the training. Had anyone had to deal with this yet? I’m the principal and would be expected to provide the training to my staff. Out of 25 teachers probably 3 approve of CRT. I’m not looking to start a heated conversation just truly seeking advice.

It is nearing the end of the school year, and I find myself struggling with patience. This passage is written on my mirror and I read it to myself each morning as a reminder of my calling to serve in love, patience, and gentleness. I hope it is an encouragement.

Even in the Christian world, we can learn from secular teachers and scholars who have familiarized themselves with Biblical principles, even if they do not realize it. Who are some of these that you follow? Do you follow them often or sporadically? Currently I'm listening to the Jordan Peterson Lots of great information from this psychologist who eventually found Christ. He has several audio books out as well. Worth your time to listen IMO...

Have been discussing Neitzsche's Parable of a Madman in my English 10 class. It's super cool how a prominant atheist's message about what you should place your hope/trust in has actually opened the door for tons of discussion about how everyone (atheists and theists) at some point need to grapple with the question: What is the source of your truth and morals? And in this parable, Nietzsche kindof admits/laments that this is a tough question for atheists to answer.

Love reading through Paul David Tripp's "Come Let Us Adore Him" every Advent. It keeps me mindful of the importance of this season.

Glad to be hear folks. I am sure I am not alone but I have experienced many attacks from my administration for simply answering questions about my faith in class or telling students I do not believe in abortion. Hoping to find some insights from others here in regards to still being a Christian example in public education without losing my job.

This text deals with questions regarding cultural issues of our day such as race, gender, mental/physical health, relativism, origins of science, etc. in a clear and coherent manner from a Biblical worldview. Highly recommended.

How can we be praying for you this week?

Hello! I am starting a Bible study devoted to teachers! This season has been hard, and I believe teachers need to be poured into so we’re able to pour into the kiddos.

It’ll be remote, and I was hoping it could be accompanied by an encouraging group message as well. Let me know if you are interested and we can find a way to connect!
