Honestly surprised at how many negative posts there are toward OP. Better for everyone to actually get a chance to save their work/get a jump on updating their resume. Genuinely curious how this "doesn't seem right".

Despite the meager level of personal space and storage at my office it would take 2-3 bags to clear it. Nice to be prepared and bring some 😂😰😭👜💼🎒
When I was let go I packed up my stuff beforehand and I still got a big box mailed to me....full of office supplies and things from my desk/drawers that were theirs...so idk who thinks pens and post-it’s from the facilities closet are appropriate to send but it really pissed me off bc my boss was a heartless soulless bitch who would try to fuck with me like that.
I also think their around 40 comes from fishbowl.

Shit is tough in Asia too, heard China and Singapore are not doing great. Not sure about Europe though.
Agree with the sentiments above, if there is a downshift it's best to be prepared. And if you are one of the people not laid off at least your files are in order and your desk is clear of personal stuff.

They send someone up to grab your purse or whatever you'll need today while they take email and slack off your personal phone.
AgencySpy quotes one source saying in the "low two digits” and another "around 40" 🤔 That's quite a discrepancy.
The reason it's not appropriate is because it's not going to be everyone, but now everyone will be on-edge for 18 hours or so wondering if it's going to be them. Your files should already be backed-up.

All part of the cycle. The only place I don't seem to hear of layoffs seems to be Google. People leave voluntarily. (And I always wondered what people earn there... assume it's mid-6-figs entry level)
