I have been a data analyst for three years. I’ve got advanced Excel skills and R Programming skills, intermediate SQL skills and recently completed Datacamp’s intermediate Python course. My goal is to become a Data Scientist. Am I ready/experienced enough to go for the Data Science role or should I be looking at Junior Data Scientist/Senior Data Analyst roles? Generally, they make everybody else's lives a living hell by creating a ridiculous amount of "small work" for everybody involved in the project just to get things done "their way".
Depends on how the PMO is run but in my experiences, I've created processes for all work streams, project planning and strategy for the projects, program approach, POC for multiple teams, etc
Maybe that pmo does. I think that their job actually to make everyone else's like easier by doing the grunt and bitch work. There was a previous FB post that called PMO roles secretary on stereoids
Track risks and dependencies
I was promoted to manager in a PMO role, travelled to 5 countries and work about the same hours as the other team members, it all depends on what you are doing and what knowledge, strategy and ideas you bring to the table
Depends- finance, compliance, schedule and lead calls, trackers- the backbone of the project's operations. That's at least my interp

Probably. I'm just bitter because the client PMO lead we're working with is a 67 year old dude who can't keep up with his inbox which results in a ton of re-work trying to undue his screw ups. Hopefully he gets the boot soon.

Thanks, FB fam! Got proposed for PMO and kinda concerned it'll be secretary type work with little "advancement ceiling." How does this total normal consulting hours, or does PMO end up work way fewer hours?
