MBB fish, how do people run their startups while working their full-time jobs? How does your firm enforce the no outside work policy?

Are consultants at MBB allowed to trade individual stocks? Or are they limited to mutual funds only? For example, can someone at McKinsey buy AAPL?

Hello everyone. I am a student with a strong GPA and internship experience but am worried I will not make it through the initial screening process to become a MBB analyst as as I do not go to an Ivy League school. Does anyone have any tips for standing out in the initial selection process?

Currently a big 4 consultant and got an offer from FAANG for a strategy and ops role that would bring my total comp up 60%. I’m really grateful for the offer and really excited, however, I am also interviewing with MBB. It has always been a goal of mine to work for tier 1 strategy firm as I’ve always felt on the outside looking in at big4. I feel like most exit ops from strategy would be S&O industry roles but still can’t get these MBB firms out of my mind. Am I just overthinking this?

I have a lot of enterprise marketing experience, but making a jump to a startup and want to get up to speed as quickly as possible.

Do recruiters and Hiring Managers actually review and read resumes? Also tech companies that sell SaaS, what is it with the requirements of having 10 years or more if technical sales experience? Also the ramp up period is not realistic. Average sales cycle for a reputable SaaS provider is 12-24 months. How on earth a start up can state that their ramp up period is 90 days? The company hasn’t had any new sales either. Start up CEO’s… be realistic or seek enough funding to operate.
