MC Analyst with only 1 YOE looking to switch firms. How do I position myself well when I’ve been mostly in generalist roles? What technical skills should I be developing?

I am interviewing with a company. Last week, one week after the interview, my hiring manager reached out to me with a couple of clarifying questions. We talked then I sent him recommendation letters from my previous employers. He said that I should have an answer from them this week whether I get an offer or not. I haven’t heard back since and yesterday I reached out to the recruiter to get some status updates. She has not responded. It’s already Friday. Is it a bad sign or am I overthinking?

Are MBB and Boutiques doing this massive hiring blitz with double referral bonus etc like the big 4 are? Or did they not fire all their people last fall?

Hi Fishes, I've 2.25 Years of experience in SAP Basis, but I've lost interest in the same due to not receiving proper training, inability to practice on customer's system and shifts. I'm looking forward to go for MBA/changing technology, which one would be a better option? It’s in the middle of the night so the perfect opportunity to share my story. I was diagnosed with MSH6 Lynch Syndrome in 2017. In order to be proactive I decided to get a full hysterectomy 3 years ago. Because of this I was forced into surgical menopause. I started on Estradiol patches for awhile then moved to a topical cream now am on the pills. Initially Premarin but due to increasing prices I’m back on Estradiol. Hi, just wondering how the staffing situation has been in strategy consulting in general? My sibling started a job in strategy in Silicon Valley 2 months ago after MBA. I’ve been working at Deloitte (federal) for 4 months now at the analyst level doing the typical analyst work, like building decks. The original company I wanted to work for had to rescind my offer back in March due to COVID. They’re hiring again and want me to join. It’s a boutique consulting firm, I’ll be apart of the cyber risk team. Which was what I originally wanted to do.

So I have two jobs I’m in the running for at the same company. Position A offered basically the same comp that I’m making now, and I’m still waiting on the results for Position B. Position A would like an answer by tomorrow AM (I was told today, I asked for more time and they said no). Would you guys ever take a job at the pursuit of trying to switch internally in the company?
