It doesn’t make a big difference.
One factor to take into account is that performance reviews are done every 6 months in ~April and ~October. In order to be eligible, you need to have been at the Firm for more than 4 months (December joiners are eligible for their first review in April; Jan joiners are not). If you want to be reviewed earlier (and therefore eligible for promotions earlier), then it’s worth keeping in mind that Dec and earlier and advantageous vs Jan onwards. Most offices don’t have strict 1st vs 2nd vs 3rd promotion cycle criteria so it probably doesn’t make a big difference.
The project slump coming in to Christmas is a real thing, so I would avoid Nov joining - after you come off training, it might be difficult to get staffing until the new year.
Can echo November is bad. Left the firm but I’d imagine July/August might be the sweet spot if you can afford to wait.
I'm doing this too. Going to try for fall.
Can't speak for internal McKinsey timeline, but other things I'd consider:
Potential new project lull in November/ December
Starting after a lot of new people can cause staffing delays
How much money you have
Health insurance
Visa considerations
Graduation/ moving timeline
Travel you want to do after graduation

There are some differences regarding review and bonus payout cutoffs, I recommend checking with your recruiter for specific details.
As M1 said though, it varies a bit per office and per role, so I recommend you check with the recruiter
Always as soon as possible … at any point before starting they can push your start date (which we have seen in the last few years). Also depending on the firm starting earlier may guarantee you a bonus & raise
