Not competitive at all unless you have documented performance issues, at least in NA. Gotta come back for two years to get debt wiped.

Does this apply for experienced hires?

How concerned are you about inflation? We have 70% savings rate and 50% of our expenses are housing / utilities of which the largest part is rent which is a fixed contract (no CPI escalation, no automatic increases, paying same rent for 4 years). No car as we are living in a large city. So if I look at the components of CPI and what’s rising I am feeling pretty „good“ about it. The one thing I am „worried“ is asset inflation but obviously that benefits me directly. What am I missing?

What level should I target if I have 5yoe post-mba, 7.5yoe total, all in consulting? I have been interviewing for Director level roles but when I talked to a friend today, he said he was surprised I wasn’t going for Sr Director. Most Sr Director roles list 10+ yoe as a requirement. Is consulting experience considered more than regular yoe?

In interviewing for new roles I feel like my weak point is a lack of case studies that show data driven iteration. The problem is, despite me preaching and coaching to product managers and product directors about setting outcomes, success metrics, a/b testing, etc our product teams don’t work that way. Most of the time the response is a chuckle and a “At [this company]? What are we, a tech company?”

Anyway, this is mostly a rant but if you have any nuggets of wisdom, drop them below
