Hi, I am a making a career change from graphic design to motion design or as a 3d artist. I finished my masters degree last October and have been looking for a job since then. Can anyone please refer me to entry level roles that are not asking entry levels to have 3-5 years experience if that even exists these days. Also below is a link to some of my work any feedback on the portfolio would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Stating the obvious: one pays market, the other does not. Do with that what you will.
Oh haha thank god. I looked on above the law and was like what am I missing? 😅
I interviewed and have friends at both. Presumably you are asking about energy.
Both are among the handful of firms that do renewable energy/tax equity/projects really well. Milbank definitely drives their associates harder, so the $$/hour worked might actually be better at Orrick than Milbank.
@A4 why is it a bad decision?
Easy, Milbank. Money and career opportunities aren’t even comparable. Orrick shouldn’t even be a consideration, imo.
If energy/projects, Milbank does more finance Orrick does more project docs
I work across from both. You will work harder at Milbank. Milbank has a higher standard of work (Orrick’s work product is hit and miss). Nice people. Note that Milbank isn’t just busy with power/energy but digital infra too. Very busy.
Depends on your goals, practice group and also which office (presumably New York but if not then something very important to consider)
Orrick’s been known for layoffs. They had the option to do salary cuts recently like they did with COVID but went straight to layoffs. This has destroyed associate confidence with the firm. Be forewarned.
Wasn’t it like a 6% reduction in headcount? And Milbank doesn’t?
