Moved from the EU. What’s a good trading platform in the US for a self directed account if balance > $10M? Looking for a platform with great UX, decent margin interest, derivatives and high interest for cash. Cheers

Schwab, and you can negotiate everything. Portfolio margin rates really drop things a lot ( my margin is calculated on all holding instead of per ticker) . Sweep can be negotiated to a MM, instead of the standard sweep account (5.20% instead of 0.45%). Trade Desk access instead of help line for support 2 hours before market opens to 90 minutes after. Waiver of fees for index charges can also be waived.

Would love to get insight from folks here as I’m not quite sure what to do. I currently have around 14K in student loan debt and enough saved up to pay it off in one fell swoop. What I’m struggling with is whether I should invest that money into the stock market (thinking less risky S&P 500 ETF) and pay off my student loans monthly with the average payment being around 1000 so I can pay it off in about 16-18 months (due to interest being around 5%) or pay it off all in one go?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

I’m considering building up my I bonds to eventually replace my 6 month expenses emergency savings account. Any downsides I’m not considering? If I slowly ramp up and ladder, I can partially withdraw any amount if I need to after a year. Even with lower inflation in the future, I’m guessing it’s going to beat a savings account yield. Thoughts?

My father took a home loan, and the same home is kept as mortgage.
I'm paying arround 22k emi for the same but unable to exempt tax as the loan is on my father's name.

I googled a lot how to transfer it but neither gift deed nor sale deed would work as the property is on mortgage that's under bank's ownership (until loan is fulfilled).
Tax is also getting deducted, I'm paying hefty emis.
What can I do?
Please advise 🙂

I’m maxing out my 401K, traditional IRA and HSA this year and paying for some house improvements. I have about $750K total investments and very close to $2M net worth, but realize that I am behind on investments if I want to do FIRE. I was focused on paying off huge chunks of my mortgage and managed to whittle it down to $75K left. Would you suggest I go ahead and pay that off this year? Or pause and do a mega back door roth instead? I’m mid 40s. Thanks!

Any advice on renegotiating my salary? I’m a compounding pharmacist and i also float to other stores while also being solely responsible for the compounding pharmacy. Long time in the making; but we finally sold off from our 50% HWB short. We had two tests at the 3400 level, getting as high as 3420 today before the sell off. Momentum and pessimism over lack of stimulus could take us to the 3107 target quickly, nearly a 10 percent decline over the next month. Stay short my friends. It's going to get bumpy.
