PI is tricky because it’s mainly an “eat what you kill” type of business. What are the incentives for bringing in cases? At my previous firm, I made 75k base but 40% of the attorneys fee for all the cases I brought to the firm. At the end of the year my salary ended up being close to 200k as a 2nd year. So if those incentives aren’t there then you definitely should be higher, but if they do offer those incentives then they will probably not want to go much higher. I hope this made sense
Leave immediately. As a CM with a total of 9 years experience in pi , I make more than that after BASIC bonuses
What is your bonus structure like?
Oh wow you're criminally underpaid anywhere in the US
That seems very very low. How much in fees are you generating for the firm?
I was thinking the same. I make a less than that as a Paralegal for Plaintiff's PI law firm. But I'm in Chicago. I guess it depends where they are located.
You keep track of your numbers? Any idea what your gross fees were the past year? What's your caseload like?
I brought in 50% more than you under similar circumstances and made about the same amount of money
Where are you located? This seems low. At least 100K
Go solo and settle $220,000 worth of cases. All done
How do you bring in clients? As a solo, I’d imagine only 3-5 new clients a month would suffice (even if some of the recovery’s are very small), but without a marketing budget, this could be hard
