In my opinion, I would stay at the current job to get the work/life balance you need even if it pays less. I think it all depends on how you want to spend and value your time :)
It depends a lot on what you value most. Did your old job still pay enough that you could cover your cost of living and put money in savings? Personally, I value work life balance because you can't get that time back. However, I make sure that I'll still be financially comfortable too.
Exactly this! I was in the same position as op and would have taken a drastic pay cut to go back to my job where I felt like I had work/life balance (and true days off). Some people are more money motivated, I value both but would take a pay cut to feel like I had a life outside of my job (like mentioned above, still be financially comfortable).
It really depends on your individual situation and what's most important to you. Personally, I decided a few months ago that I didn't want to put money above my happiness so I switched to a job that offered more work-life balance, even if the pay was slightly lower. It was the right choice for me.
What is it about the current job's wlb that you don't like? Maybe this is something that can be changed. Have you talked it over with your boss?
If you're even thinking about it, it tells me that work life balance is more important to you than money so you should go with the job that gives you that
I was facing a similar decision and after talking it out with my manager I chose to stay with the job I like vs the pay raise. I’d agree with those who said work/life balance as that’s what’s more important in regards to your health and such.
