I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

Hi there! Interviewing w/Amazon for a non-tech role (Associate Category Manager aka Associate Buyer) and was asked what my salary requirements are for base+bonus+equity. Can anyone share insight on what Amazonians make in this role. I have 4 YOE and glassdoor is not very helpful.

What jobs are currently paying 85k?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

For the same money, I’d have to be down bad about the company, my role or generally not happy.
The market now is rough, for sure. But you should be able to find something to at least match if not exceed what you make - otherwise what’s the point in moving?
Unless it’s your calling, more exciting challenges, a way better management team, a more personally interesting opportunity or something with mentorship/future opportunities.
Otherwise I’d keep looking. Yes, companies are trying to low ball candidates right now; knowing they can find someone desperate at a discount. If you NEED the job, take it but don’t stop searching.
This is a really good perspective, thank you. I agree the market factors right now play a role. From what you seen how long do you see the job search process taking now?
Think package deal inclusive of long term reasonable prospects.... it's pretty personal, unless its a no-brainer
Yeah that’s the thing I feel I’m surrounded by people who are obsessed with pay only, but there’s a lot of facets to consider
