My programmer wife and I are about to reach 250k/y household income. How do we find a good personal accountant to help us save some money in taxes? We already have a 401k and IRA accounts and no home or children. I feel TurboTax might not be our best option anymore. Advice?

Turbo tax should be still good for your situation unless you have a lot of investments, side income, or other income generating assets.

Nothing of note. Under 100k in crypto and under 100k in non-retirement stocks. I think I’m going to keep using TurboTax 👍. 🙏

Hey OP, I like the 50:50 crypto and stocks. I am trying to get to the same ratio.

Whats your allocation in crypto?

Mostly btc. Token amounts of xrp, eth, ltc bnc

Btw not sure how good this tax planning is, I am planning to park my crypto investments in roth ira because of the asymmetric bet.

definitely get a tax specialist if you exercise options, buy a home, open a side business, or do anything complicated. otherwise should be fine to use turbotax.

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

Hey Bowl,
I work for a late stage(ipo) start up, earlier this year we were acquired & since then they got rid of our yearly bonuses and gave us an ESOP grant.
2 RIFs later we are almost bare bones. Since we are coming up on our usual yearly evaluations many of us assumed (with multiple conversation from our managers) that pay raises and promotions were due.
In a recent All hands we found out that this year there will be no pay raises nor promotions based off merit. Is it time to jump ship?
