My wife was informed a few weeks ago that she would be laid off as of end of year. She signed the paperwork and will be receiving a decent severance due to her tenure there.

Now the company is saying they may have some other work for her to do for a few months and they could extend her contract if interested. If she says no, is she still eligible for her severance since she already signed her paperwork?
