If you work at Pwc and you're a S3 on track for promotion, then leaving would forfeit your 25% milestone award. Lot of money to leave on the table. Also, leaving as manager tends to open more windows and opportunities than leaving as a senior to be manager.
Yeah it is offering 40% increase, but only 14 days vacation and for the first 6 months its expected to work long hours til about 8pm
I left senior 3 for significant raise and title bump. Half wished I deferred a few more months for big 4 manager title, but in the end making 50% more and YOLO. I like the money more than title.
Agree with pwc, stay for your promotion and then leave if you want. You'll have more leverage in discussions
Even though its a manager position they already want me for? Thats my biggest dilemma, i feel like i should stay til manager but i don't want to be passing along this opportunity. I was not seeking any jobs but its something they reached out to me for out of the blue
Every situation is different. If you think you'd be promoted to manager at pwc in 3 months, but they're offering you the promotion now, and that's the only difference, then id stay. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know. However if they're also offering you better work life balance, better commute, signing bonus, high pay raise, etc, then maybe it does make sense.
@manager 1 how many vacation days did you get with that?
50%? Nice. What region are u in? I feel like the pay jumps in our area are closer to 20% in industry for leaving seniors/early managers.
@OP: It's unlimited vacation. Will see how it plays out. So far booked three weeks cumulative. Working pretty hard in between them.
@EY1: NYC.
@Manager1: wow you got a good deal there! The place i'm looking at is giving only 14 days which is a reason i'm doubting it
@OP - If it's really that big of a deal, you should ask them to meet you in the middle with get 5-6 more days vacation and explain how you have at 25 days + unlimited sick time and it's hard to give up. It's meeting them in the middle and the worst they can say is "no" 😌
