Need career advice. Been an IT leader of SMB companies and balancing a few opportunities. One is totally outsourced Infrastructure and all product development with SaaS apps. Two is an IT MSP and consulting services head. Three is green fields data analytics and growth creation team. All jobs are at the VP or C suite level. Pay is all similar so thinking about future jobs. What would set me up best for a future as an IT executive leader, possibly being a CIO or CTO?

We cancelled all our plans, I helped him arrange logistics so he can fly back to Belgium the next day. It hurts me so much to see him grieve. I am left in CA, give him his space and talk to him when he calls and I make sure that I don’t show that I feel sad that he is both physically and emotionally distant

This time last year I had to cancel my Father’s Day dinner to go to the office and work on documents with the partner. He chose the evening, never telling me his plans all day to come in to work with him. On his social media for that day, he prominently had photos of the Father’s Day brunch and other activities he had with his kids and wife. I would have done the same, had I been informed by him that he was going to work in the evening after. But partner couldn’t be bothered to consider that.

At a new firm and right away I knew I wasn’t going to get along with one partner. Had a conflict with one of his associates early on. Everyone else is cool. Got into it with the partner and he told me he didn’t need my help on his matters anymore. The cool associates are still asking if I can pitch in cause they’re swamped. I’m a nice guy (despite what the partner and uncool associate may say), so I’m helping out. I’m the guy that gets fired and shows up the next day. Results TBD.
