JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

TFW the team lead has Short Man Syndrome...
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

The part that is strange is the ask for in person to prepare a virtual presentation…my guess is they were trying to prevent cheating with the use of AI tools but that might be an overly generous read (could just be an employer excising their power)

Sounds like a typical strategy case study.
My thoughts on the case itself:
Case Study Clarity: The lack of instructions, scope, and clear expectations regarding using tools for research made the case study highly confusing. I had no clarity if I had time to do requirements gathering or online benchmark research. I wasn't given any actual Excel data. Case points I can remember Ex. Company went from 50 to 500 stores. Inventory turnover increased by x amount. Investors want x amount roi by end of year 2. Margins on in-store verse direct to customers has a 40% reduction in margin. Should the company pause scaling.... Is this a normal case study? What are they testing? And is 1 hour to come up with an answer with PowerPoint presentations reasonable?
I found it difficult to see how the presented facts related to assessing a candidate's fit for the role. In my other experiences with case studies, companies have simply emailed me the case study and gave me 24 or 48 hours to complete it for submission.
Transparency: Was the case study's objective to test ambiguity tolerance and problem-solving? If so shouldn't that have been explicitly stated. Had I been informed of the specific process and requirements in advance, I would have been better prepared to formulate responses.
I never had a case study experience like this so wondering if this was normal. I felt the company wasted my time to be honest.
Second this sounding like a typical strategy case…the point is to test problem solving ability including ability to manage ambiguity (and telling candidates that in advance somewhat counterproductive on testing the ability to manage ambiguity front…)
Curious if you are an industry hire moving into consulting, if so then yes, sounds like a pretty normal case. I think you might be overwhelmed seeing it for the first time but trust me it gets easier once you’ve done a few.
You are still in the tendency to solve and find the correct solution etc. that’s not the point in consulting interviews. The goal in this scenario is to come up with a compelling case or hypothesis that is backed up with the facts given to you, with the rest being assumptions you make to support the direction you want. So high level based on what you posted, lots of growth in brick and mortar but seems like it’s less profitable than dtc, prob would look at what the cost were to set up the stores moving forward and make a case about why redeploying that capital to dtc channel would likely yield better results, modelling both cases for the presentation. There’s likely more details I’m missing that would contextualize the insights and recommendation but ultimately it’s all make believe. Another path, stick to increasing store but I’d look for a breakdown of store performances by region to identify which ones are profitable and why, ultimately saying we continue to expand but only for stores that fit xyz criteria.
At the end of the day the ask is “should the company keep expanding store count?” Come up with an answer and defend it confidently!
Thanks for the feedback. So over all normal processes. I learned this format is not my cup of tea. My nerves got the best of me as I felt blind sided by the case itself. I'm very much a structured, research prep type and like a heads up on what I am going to be asked to do. Knowledge is never free. Will be ready next time if I decide to take on a similar role again.
