Need help deciding on an offer I got today. Junior lateral. Corporate practice area. Small firm to mid-sized firm. 195k salary (which is a pretty big bump for me). Everything sounds great on paper as far as mentorship, work life balance, partners are super nice. My only concern is that the billable req is 1950, which is a good bit higher than my current minimum. With that kind of minimum, should I just shoot for a big firm?

For anyone who receives a quarterly bonus or raise in some form, does your employer start to schedule you for less hours when your raise kicks in, or pull you from a future schedule entirely once you receive a bonus; only to put you back on once the hours you would have worked and earned the amount given are passed? Ie; a part time employee getting $200.00 in a quarterly bonus and then not being scheduled a whole week during a bi-weekly pay period where they would have earned more on the clock…?
