That sign on at EYP is criminal

I think what P1 means is: if others are giving new hires below manager / Director $25K, $10K to a higher level hire is pretty low. I happen to agree.

like

1) A&M will pay you 1.5-2.5X EYP 2) Tie with lean to A&M 3) depends on industry and function 4) Id go with a tie here given both will see plenty of PE-client work 5) A&M, I’ve heard Parthenon was great but EY integration hasn’t been good — source: see the EYP bowl

like

Yes i just left EY P party because of the poor integration and shocking culture.

Been at both A&M pay >>>EY Future opportunities/exit opps I’d give it to EY purely because of the breadth of clients/opportunities at the firm and for the vanilla corporates the name rings more bells which means more recruiters contact you. (Work quality at A&M is slightly better than TS&E IMO) Wlb is better at EY for me but I moved for that reason and I know what I’m doing so I pushback on people a lot. I don’t want to be partner just waiting for the right exit whilst working a job I like. I’ve seen plenty of people get crushed but it’s a lot more common in pepi Culture - depends what you’re like. A&M is generally older and more serious, TS&E is a lot younger and funner imo but again depends what you like

CMV: The era of traveling consultants is over. Yes, life will go back to normal and travel will be safe again, but not until enough time/experience has passed for consulting firms and clients to realize the weekly on-site travel is unnecessary. Limited travel will still exist and maybe more at senior levels. Regional/local travel will be the norm. Consulting will remain a popular career starter for exit opps and continued high pay, but not for travel/expense perks.

Roth or Trad 401K? $210K in yearly household income + 10% bonus (just wife and I, both 32y.o.). Take home pay is about $140K - includes 401K contributions and health benefits. Can't decide if Roth makes sense as I don't anticipate our retirement income will exceed current spending levels. I get the appeal of tax free withdrawals but at the expense of paying more up front. Any advice?

Would you take the following offer: Base - ~$180K; Bonus - ~$30K; RSU - ~$15k; Total Comp - ~$225K; F500 firm, not tech, mid-west, individual contributor role with potential for senior roles in 2 years. Good WLB, but not the most interesting industry. Currently working at a T2 Strategy Consulting firm, 2.5 years out of a T10 MBA. $200K all in. 7 YoE. Happy with consulting so far and performing well, but would like better WLB. How much better are tech exit ops given SF cost of living?
