There's really nothing that's as good as in-person interactions. And the key to networking is that it just takes time and needs to happen organically. By that I mean you can't force it. As you circulate at industry events, or wherever you may find yourself, just establish contact and try to stay in touch with people. Over time you'll find you've developed a network.
Using both is a good way to build a strong network. It is easier to make connections in person and just keep them relevant using LinkedIn or something similar. Networking is an ongoing thing and important to not just use it when you need it.

This book completely reshapes how you think about sales. Highly practical and insightful! Definitely worth checking out!
