New CDC study in MMWR: Hospitalization risk for vaccinated people during the late summer Delta wave was similar to that for unvaccinated people with documented prior C19. Much higher for unvaccinated immunonaive people obviously. It’s becoming clear that the C19 vaccines don’t stop transmission *and* that they’re not likely to keep people out of the hospital who have already encountered the disease. So why would orgs move down the path to endless boosters again?

Where have all the Natural Immunity isn’t strong folks gone

like

Vaccination is natural immunity.

So what we got here is a choose your path scenario.

1) get vaccinated and greatly reduce your risk of hospitalization or death from Covid.

2) choose not to greatly reduce your risk of hospitalization or death from Covid in order to have that protection the second time around.

Seems like option 1 is better choice. Get protection the first and following infection.

likefunny

It was pretty bad for the unvaccinated, yes. Mitigation measures were removed and the probability of infection rose greatly for the unvaccinated.

Have you seen the research into spike antibodies versus nucleocapsid antibodies?

Read the latest article from Peter Attia on this. Very good analysis and summary of the issue.

So vaccines do a great job of keeping people out of the hospital? What’s the gotcha here?

It’s the fact that you have children and students who already got Covid are still being forced to get vaccinated and boosted based on no science that shows it’s needed for them to be safe…

I think I’m depressed.

Husband and I have been TTC for almost a year. His semen analysis came back all normal with the exception of morphology at 1% (Kruger Strict criteria). Anyone have insights into morphology and it’s impacts on fertility? From what I’ve read and after talking to our fertility specialist morphology seems subjective.

But today I realized I don't have anyone to talk to anymore when this image of me hanging keep popping up in my head. I couldn't even tell my psychiatrist. I'm searching for places that can handle my weight. I even cried full on which has not been happening since I started taking medication for depression. Is this anxiety? Or my brain is just ready let go finally.

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
