Hi Fishes,
Anyone here at Luxoft with permanent remote ? I got an offer. Will they ask to come to office at any point ? What about job security at Luxoft ? HR mentioned 8 hours per day and no need to enter timesheet, time will be auto captured. That means like we can't be away from the system at all ? Please help.
Thanks

I'm still getting accustomed... gotta get over the fact that the commuting is a sunk cost. Still trying to figure out what to listen to. To me is mostly the strictness about having to be there a full day.
After being fully remote since 2019, I'm now coming hybrid to a new job for about 8 months. 4 months in they told me to spend full day at the office. Unintentionally, I'm now working less. I would leave at 4, have a 10 minute commute, and work until 550ish to then get the kids. if there was an email I hadn't responded to or w.e. I would respond after pickup.
Now I'm rushing out at 455...get home at 520ish but not point on logging in since gotta the kids soon...and by the time I'm back I've been logged off so long that I'm in unwind mode so that stuff has to wait. There may be some psychological effect that I now feel "work is in the office, not at home". Idk.

Leave your laptop in a locked drawer at the office at night
It'll feel really weird at first. I felt like I had no social skills in the beginning as I wasn't used to small talk or just talk period. Then came an office crush. 🫠
Most likely, you will get sick with everything anyone at the office has. I've been back since December 2023 and in the last year, I have caught the flu, pink eye, bronchitis, covid, and strep throat. I didn't even live a secluded life before going back to the office, I went out weekends and traveled, but working in an office is like germ mecca.
Oh no! I kind of felt thisbworking remote. Since ive been home so much, its like i always got sick after traveling

I thought I would hate it when doing something similar at a new employer but it’s only 3x per week in office. It’s a nice change up honestly and office perks were great too to reward those who come in consistently.
Just make due with the fact that you’ll get less sleep since you need to layer in the commute.
Yeah make sure you go ahead and do your first desk pop as soon as you can.
I've been hybrid since 2022 and fully in office by 2024 for a different organization. Didn't have much of a choice after being laid off.
The strict hours are def brutal some days and the Toronto Traffic makes me want to hurl.
Still coping, learning to take breaks, go for walks and pace my work load. Even one day a week remote would be a godsend just to catch my breath, sigh.
