No PIP, no negative feedback received, no performance improvement plan. I was fired out of the blue on vacation on a 3 minute video call for “performance” reason. Don’t be loyal to any company. As soon as you get a better opportunity, LEAVE.

Feel free to name the company and part of the firm that did this so others are aware. Also these places care about stuff like glassdoor so have at it there

KPMG did this to me after I got a bad review from a toxic manager who had multiple HR complaints against him over the years. He worked me 16-18 hours a day and blamed me for everything that went wrong even though he was awful at reviewing and just being a decent manager.

I brought this up with my performance manager proactively… and next thing you know my schedule was being cleared up. Suddenly all my other teams where I did well had “budget issues”.

No PIP or nothing. Just a “we’re over headcount” message. I was on a visa and just got dumped in the middle of a pandemic with severe restrictions on new work visas.

I can not seem to get over how shitty that was.

@K4 trust me I felt the same way before this happened when I heard such stories. Lost confidence in myself too. Now at a consulting firm and doing better than ever. My abilities didn’t magically change.

Get unemployment. Did you sign anything or did they provide you with a letter? Better screenshot and send pics of your previous performance feedback to your personal phone

Firing while on vacation? Did I read that right ??? That is insane, on video at that?

So you should receive some letter that states why you were terminated unless the organization is "at will" then they really don't need to give you a reason.

Sorry to hear that.

Which firm, and do you have severance? Were your utilization lower than they expected at your level and if there was any conversation between you and your coach or higherup before this happened?

Knowing this. Should we not give a 100% at work? What is the point

It’s the big d with the green dot

D doesn’t have Associates.

Don’t be shy OP name drop :)

like others. curious if he got a severance package or does that never happen at places like this

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Hey team! So I was laid off from my SDR position about a week ago. A couple months back, I had an offer for a BDR position that I ended up turning down but I really liked and connected with the manager. Is it worth it to reach out? I applied to other positions in the same company. What about reaching out to previous co workers at a different company? Not sure how to navigate this… please help. Also I’m sorry if this is the wrong bowl to post in.

Currently SM at Bain (4 years post MBA) and was approached for a senior associate role in portfolio ops at a large PE fund. Been told 2.5 years to VP and another 2.5 years to director. Feels like the role is a bit junior but offers a 50% pay jump.

Thoughts on seniority? Also, any interview resources for PE portfolio roles?

I’m interviewing at Google’s Treasury team. The role would be as a rates analyst managing their portfolio - primarily cash and short duration fixed income products (100bn aum). TC: ~150k, not sure of breakdown.

I currently work as a quant/middle office at a very well reputed mutual fund, but this is not a market facing role. TC: 125k, but they have a very generous profit sharing plan that contributes 25% of my pay to retirement accts if I stay for 6 years, so ~160k?

Any thoughts?
