Anyone stuck in BOS Terminal 1?
Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

Rent first to discover the area. I moved to Charlotte uptown a year ago hoping to move for long term but it is quite boring.
Ugh that's hard they are both so great. For a family I would probably go RDU and live in Cary. Flights are easier from CLT though 🤔
Charlotte
A1, I am very interested in Cornelius as well!
Having lived in both Charlotte and RDU area as well as in Davidson (near Cornelius) I second that it depends on the industry you want to work in long term if you leave consulting (banking vs tech/pharma/healthcare). If that's not a factor and considering your SO is in banking, if you want the Lake Norman life, you'll make better work connections and be closer to the airport by living in Charlotte and then keeping a boat on the lake or getting a second place. I have a lot of friends who do that. If you want to start a family, the high end Charlotte neighborhoods are Myers Park, Dilworth, and South Park. Myers Park has one of the only good public schools so it brings up RE prices. Sending kids to private school is common in Charlotte if you can swing it. The Elizabeth and NoDa areas are a bit funkier but quickly gentrifying. The reason a lot of folks (read: bankers) go to SC is that there are good schools right on the border and you pay lower taxes and can get a huge ass house with lots of property. And there's Lake Wiley too down there if you're set on the lake life. But if you're sending your kids private, stay in Charlotte area! Much more interesting, more cultural things, better restaurants etc. Esp if you are coming from Chicago...may be a culture shock
OP, Ballantyne in CLT has good schools. Don't know about SC. Also, having been here 3 years and right now 28, I keep wishing I came here at a later age. This is a great place for mid 30s and when you have kids. Funnily enough, I'm considering moving to Chicago for now and returning in a few years. And a lot of my friends feel the same way about CLT. We love CLT but would rather be here at a later age.
If you want to stay in tech, RDU. It's growing rapidly. Cary is a safe bet but pricey. Apex is growing but still not too bad to buy houses. Personally would stay out of Durham. Just to boring for me. CTL is better if you want the typical suburb life. Or banking.
I have been very interested in Cornelius for the lake life, the SO is in banking. Any thoughts?
@EY1 which neighborhoods in Charlotte should I be looking at?
That's my plan too! Looking to move in Raleigh area but was originally looking in Lake Norman area (outside Charlotte) but some said Raleigh may be better.
CLT for sure. Lot of people live in SC for cheaper property taxes and commute to uptown. SC border is about ~17 mins from uptown. For SC area check houses near lake Wylie. Also uptown CLT is nowhere closer to chi downtown. There's are a bunch of hot neighborhoods that are scattered but easy to reach. Distances in CLT are small and traffic is not bad at all. Agree with D3 on renting here before buying.
I grew up in Raleigh and hated it 😂 that being said I'm 23 and wanted to move to a big city asap to enjoy the single party life. Our priorities are very different
EY2, how about schools in SC compared to CLT
