How do you balance work and fun?
Hi #Urgent
Got the Offer Letter from Citi upon accepting I also received the Background Verification (BGV) mail.
which says I need to provide the relieving letter/experience letter. But the thing is I have not received it (it will take some time). I only have resignation acceptance letter.
Can we still proceed for bgv process and tell Citi that I will provide the relieving letter later on when i get it.
(already passed my LWD: 2nd nov)

The data is showing that the vaccines are just less effective against Delta, not ineffective. And still very effective at preventing hospitalization, should you get it. But an individual who is vaccinated can still elect to wear a mask even if it is not required to do so. The main parts of the US where Delta is an issue is where vaccine rates are lagging. The vaccine works.
@ACD The reason: 🤑🤑🤑
I was willing to spend almost a year and half in quarantine to help protect the most vulnerable of Americans from being hospitalized and dying. By now, all of the most vulnerable (in the US) have had a chance to get the vaccine if they want it. I’ve gotten the vaccine. I’m not worried about getting it or spreading it. If I’m part of the low percentage of vaccinated people who still get sick, I’m not worried about dying from it. I’m done with the mask. I’m done with lockdown. This is as far as I’m willing to go. If you’re waiting for 80% of Americans to get vaccinated before you take your mask off you’re going to be wearing a mask for the rest of your life.
Rising Star
Well, this may just be the generation that wears masks its whole life.
I am concerned. To be completely unconcerned about new variants and mutations is to be ignorant. We still don’t know everything about this virus. Just a year and a half ago we thought a mask couldn’t protect against it. I am fully vaccinated and will go to the office but am still very concerned.
Realistically a vaccine that is 90+% effective and at worst marginally less effective with the delta variant is the best we’ll ever get.
If that’s not good enough then we’ll be in some kind of lockdown forever.
Even if the vaccines are less effective against the delta variant they’re still nearly 100% effective against hospitalisation and serious illness so I’m ready to get on with life now.
I suspect your response is where the majority land
Concerned for sure. The variants will keep coming as long as they are given opportunities to mutate and spread. Immunity isn’t absolute. My small children aren’t vaccinated. Everyone acting as armchair experts a year into this is laughable.
I am concerned. I’ve heard enough stories of people fully vaxxed on Pfizer getting it. Sure they weren’t hospitalized and they lived, but I don’t want Covid and any of the bizarre side effects that come with even just a mild case.
Fully vaccinated, but I have an autoimmune disease so there’s no way I’m going back to the office.
I’m still outdoors only, and masks on - I haven’t even hung out with anyone indoors yet. Totally different world for me unfortunately, luckily my boss is understanding and not forcing the issue - otherwise I’d have to quit.
Agree w choosing to vax or not but I have IBD am vaxed but also being asked to go back 5 days a week no masks no distance and I wonder if I am at higher risk or not.
Yeah, I am concerned. I have an autoimmune condition so I worry the vaccine hasn’t taken as well as a healthy person. It won’t stop me going in to the office but I will probably continue wearing a mask for the time being.
I’m a little concerned about an unvaccinated coworker that will be sitting not too far from my desk. But more concerned for him than me in reality.
I won’t be going to crowded clubs/bars and making out with random people though. But I’m in a relationship so past that stage anyway. Luckily. (Reports are saying the 18-24 crowd is resisting getting the vaccine more than other age groups so that adds another layer)
No, not at all. I’m more interested in full WFH flexibility moving forward and big agencies seem to be a bit tone deaf to new realities.
I don’t understand why people who haven’t received the vax are such a big concern. I have the vax, should I be concerned?? Is the vax not that effective? (sorry, haven’t been too in the data about people who have the vax getting covid)
Agree w/this! Disease is (and always will be) part of life. Even with Covid, the risk of serious disease is far less than previous generations thanks to vaccines and medical advancements and I’m so grateful for that! The goal has never been a zero-Covid, zero-pain and suffering world, and reducing Covid from a life-threatening illness to an annoying cold for most is a miracle in itself. I’m concerned that focusing on small changes in efficacy ultimately fuels the anti-vax fire and creates more hesitancy. Most vaccinated people, and low-risk unvaccinated kids, can return to normal. The focus should now be on vaccinating people worldwide and researching ways to boost protection for high-risk and immunocompromised populations.
Very concerned. I am fully vaxxed but I’m pretty sure there are people who aren’t and/or refuse to who is going to be mingling amongst us.
Presumably your agencies are requiring proof of vaccine - does that offset concerns for anyone? It does for me - I’m more concerned about public transport than the office.
No it’s not illegal. A lot of companies are requiring this precaution as a health and safety measure. Companies can make their own rules - so if an employee wants to come into our office, they can do so providing they’ve proven their vax status. If they aren’t vaccinated they can’t enter the premises as an employee - but you can work from home obviously. Companies can’t ask for or require proof from non employees is how I understand it. Kind of a non issue anyways since most folks are working from home - but those are the rules that have been communicated.
We’re requiring proof of vaccine but I’m worried about it if I have to do business travel again.
Literally having daily breakdowns about returning to the office this Sept. Just glad I don’t have unvaccinated kids or immune compromised family members… if so, there’s no way I’d go back in-person.
Interesting I have an unvaxed 10 year old I have an autoimmune disease. I have to go back 5 days in September. I don’t know what to think. I’m not sure I’m at higher risk since I’m not on immune suppressants but what I do know is it’s a wild, wild world and I’m not sure we are all taking care of each other as we should.
Nope, not concerned at all for myself! The level of mutation needed to render the vaccine useless would also make the Covid virus unable to infect human cells. I have had Covid, been double-vaxxed, and am generally healthy so a slight drop in efficacy doesn’t concern me. I have followed the science closely since the start of the pandemic, and now think it’s time to accept the low level of risk that comes with existing among other humans. Covid will likely become endemic along with other cold/flu viruses, and will be weakened with vaccination and natural immunity (hopefully more of the former than the latter). I’ve caught a few bugs post-vax and it’s no fun being sick, but hopefully work culture will continue to be flexible and allow us to rest when our bodies demand it. No 100% effective vaccine or cure exists, and mild infections are worth the tradeoff for me to work and socialize with others!
I currently work from a coworking office maskless and will return to the office when we go hybrid in September, have traveled on planes and trains, and regularly eat at restaurants, shop, and spend time with friends. I don’t usually wear a mask for daily activities, but always keep one with me and will happily mask up if required or if most people in a given space are wearing one. I’ll also wear a mask when spending time with elderly/immunocompromised family to be extra cautious. And I 100% respect others who are continuing to distance, mask, and WFH as well. These are scary times and there’s nothing wrong with taking extra precautions based on your personal situation. Respect and empathy all around.
