Not work related, but definitely woman related. How long does this “middle aged spread” last? I eat well and am very active and my clothes no longer fit right. Mother Nature seems to really have it in for middle aged women.

Going through this right now too. No idea how long it will last, but I have really been trying to focus on my diet and exercise lately. I cannot possibly afford to buy any more clothes. I know for me over the past few months, I have not been eating as well as I could have been so I'm going to try and work on that for sure.

I’m currently going through this phase. What helped is to understand the real cause for all of it. Watching your calories and certain exercises (eg cardio) is not going to address growing bellies. I really liked podcast of Dr Sara Gottfried “Female Hormone Expert: How to lose Fat, Reduce stress @ stay young after 40+”. She explains the basics of our bodies changes and what we can consider doing. There are so many options, and not just HRT. She is a doctor herself and it was interesting to hear that she couldn’t get any good advise from her doctor going through menopause.

I was going through the same thing. Thought I was eating well and exercised 4+ times a week, but the pounds just kept adding. I went to a naturopathic doctor, had blood work done to rule out thyroid and metabolism issues, and to baseline many markers. She put me on HRT and recommended supplements, plus a high protein, low carb diet. I've lost 20 pounds and am still losing. There are options to HRT, but I have found it's also helped with other symptoms and I am happy I am on them.

Just completed my last shift in the ICU. I'm glad to be shifting back to the Maternatity ward. It was exhausting, and emotionally draining working with such sick patients. I know the work we did made a big difference, but I'm glad to go back to my favorite role!

Can I just vent on how annoyed I am with the increase in “priority boarding” of people that are able bodied? I am happy to let them on first. But I think they should get off last. So many times they are limping or in a wheelchair boarding. And then when we land that are the first to jump up and scurry off. Just not ethical.

My supervisor gave me 8hours of AWOL because I couldn't show up one day because I was under anxiety. I have gave him letters from psychiatrist,psychologist that I'm passing through this. He didn't care and gave me an AWOL. I want to leave my job because my department is very toxic but I don't want to leave having that on my records.
